Getting Started with Mindfulness-Based Coaching

Coaching is a collaboration between two people. I will act as a support system to help you become more aware, set goals, and plan action steps to achieve them. Whether you need personal, professional,  motivational, or wellness,  coaching, I can assist you to think through problems, find solutions, and discover a path forward as you transition to the next phase of your life.

Schedule a 30-Minute Discovery Call

During this complimentary call, we can discuss what brings you to coaching and how I can best support your vision, purpose, challenges, and goals.

Coaches use questions and reflections to help you gain insight and arrive at your own answers. But I can also, with your permission, offer suggestions I believe will help guide you toward your desired outcome.

In addition, we can work with journaling and mind-body methods to help you learn ways to stay calm and become more open to your own intuitive guidance.

Whether you are going through a transition, struggling with a decision, or need health and wellness support, I’m here to accompany you and be on your side as you follow your unique path.

We will identify the skills and methods that work best for you, so you can deal successfully with your challenges and responsibilities. But we will also build on your talents, strengths, and interests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does coaching take place?

Coaching is virtual on Zoom. We may also speak on the phone.

How long will coaching take?

It takes time to make lasting changes and move through transitions. Research shows that significant change typically takes at least 66 days to become fully incorporated, though it may take longer. Everyone is different.

My programs are three months long, with the option to extend the program for an additional three months or longer.

However, I will work with you if you’d prefer a different format.

What are your qualifications?

I am a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. The ICF is widely considered to be one of the leading providers of coaching certification. Coaching training requirements include a training program, mentorship, a specified number of practice hours, and continuing education to maintain the certification.

I am also a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, a Certified Institute for Integrative Nutrition Coach, a published author, and a writing teacher.

What is your fee?

Please see the programs page. I also offer a sliding scale for those in need.

What's the difference between coaching and therapy?

Both therapy and coaching support people to gain clarity, deal with obstacles, and take actions to lead a healthier, more meaningful life as they move through transitions.

However, therapists are governed by a licensing board to legally provide psychotherapy. A therapist needs to have a master’s degree and a state license to practice therapy. Therapists focus on the past and on a variety of mental health conditions as outlined in the DSM.

Coaches focus on the present and future and help clients create a vision, expand awareness, set goals, and co-create the steps to achieve those goals. Coaches may have varying niches, such as career, relationships, communication, or health and wellness.

Coaches often can fill the gap and work in tandem with therapists to help progress toward goals. Coaching can be a support to therapy, but it is not a replacement for it.

We can:

  • Inquire into the thoughts, habits, and unconscious biases that may be preventing you from living up to your potential.
  • Incorporate methods such as mindfulness and journaling to expand your awareness and tap into your inherent knowing.
  • Learn how to implement a growth mindset.
  • Identify ways to incorporate new insights and create a vision for the future.
  • Establish goals and the actions needed to achieve them.
  • Maintain new habits and beneficial ways of being.
  • Move forward during times of transition.
